Right away I was taken aback by how clearly each instrument was reproduced - every nuance of Miles’ trumpet playing as well as Ben’s saxophone were faithfully recreated without any distortion or coloration. 

The low end was tight and controlled, while the high frequencies were detailed without being too harsh or bright. The soundstage was expansive, with a great sense of depth that allowed me to really feel as if I was in the same room as these two jazz legends. The Wilson Audio Alexia loudspeaker also did an admirable job at conveying dynamics. Every dynamic shift in volume and intensity came through clearly and accurately, allowing for a more engaging listening experience. Even when pushed to higher volumes, the speaker managed to remain composed - there wasn’t any muddiness or distortion present whatsoever. 

It handled complex passages with ease, delivering all of the nuances without ever sounding congested or confused. Overall, I found my listening experience with the Wilson Audio Alexia loudspeaker to be quite enjoyable.

Esoteric D02x 36-bit Dual Mono D/A Converter. After hearing so many favourable reviews, I was eager to see what this state-of-the-art device offered. I’m happy to report that I wasn’t disappointed. The unit's build quality is superb, with an anodized aluminium front panel with touch buttons for encoding, gain and other functions.

 The rear panel features RCA and XLR outputs, USB and coax digital inputs, AES/EBU connector and RCA digital output. Behind the scenes, the D/A circuitry boasts 16 differential circuits per channel (32 outputs in total), and uses a proprietary algorithm to convert PCM signal to fixed 11.2MHz DSD, making significantly smoother musical reproduction available.

 In terms of sound quality, the Esoteric D02x offers something truly special. I’ve been listening to music from genres as widely varied as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Louis Armstrong and jazz diva Diana Krall. It all sounds open, articulate and with quite amazing detail and dynamics. 

This unit is sure to impress whether you’re a pure audiophile or a casual music fan. Without a doubt, it is money well spent.

The Dragon Zero Speaker Cables and Dragon XLR Interconnects are among the newest additions to this line, and I was excited to give them a try. 

I connected these cables to my BLA Office System, which features the Esoteric F03A, Esoteric D02X DAC, and the Troels Illuminator Monitors. Right out of the box, I was impressed with the sound quality. There was no harshness or any indication that the cables required significant burn-in time. Listening to the sounds of Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan's "In Session" recording, made in December 1983, with Audioquest's Dragon Zero Speaker Cables and Dragon XLR Interconnects, was truly an unforgettable experience. 

These cables are audiophile-grade and they truly enhanced the overall sound quality, making it more enjoyable to listen to. The cables brought out the best in each instrument and vocal, making the music sound more natural and detailed. The interplay between Albert King's smooth and soulful guitar playing and Stevie Ray Vaughan's fiery and intense solos was particularly striking. 

The two musicians complement each other perfectly, and the cables seemed to enhance that chemistry even further. One of the standout tracks on the album, "Call It Stormy Monday," featured both King and Vaughan trading solos and playing off each other's styles. The Dragon Zero Speaker Cables and Dragon XLR Interconnects made the music sound crisp and clear, allowing me to fully appreciate the incredible guitar skills of both musicians. 

Another highlight was "Don't Lie To Me," which showcased King's powerful vocals and Vaughan's incredible guitar skills. The Dragon Zero Speaker Cables and Dragon XLR Interconnects truly brought out the best in the song, making it sound even more powerful and emotional.

 I am so impressed with the Audioquest Dragon Zero Speaker Cables and Dragon XLR Interconnects that I am planning to use more of the same cables in Music Room 1.
